Before you can understand how to play Roulette, it helps to have a little history, and background information on the game of Roulette.

The History of Roulette

In American Roulette, the house advantage is 5.26% where as the European Roulette version has a house advantage of 2.7%. In Roulette, numbers 1 to 10 and 20 to 27 odd numbers are red and even numbers are black. Numbers 11 to 19 & 28 to 36 odd numbers are black and even numbers are red. The 00 and 0 numbers are always green. The Roulette number sequence are very different between European Roulette and American Roulette.

Betting Types

There are many different types of bets to be made with Roulette. A single number bet where your chip is placed only in the middle of 1 numbered square is called a Straight-Up Bet. A Split is a bet on two adjoining numbers placed either vertically or horizontally and placed on the line between these 2 numbers. A Street is a bet on 3 numbers in a horizontal pattern. Corner bets are when a bet is placed on four numbers in a square layout. The chip in this case is placed where the lines meet. Six Lines or a double street are when 2 adjoining streets are bet on with the chip placed at the corresponding intersection. A Trio is where in American roulette is placed on the intersecting point. A Basket is a bet on 0,1, 2, & 3. A Top Line Bet is on 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 the chip will be placed at the corner of 0 & 1 or 00 & 3. These are all called “Inside Bets” “Outside Bets have smaller layouts with better odds at winning. 1 to 18 is the bet on the first 18 numbers. 19 to 36 is on the next group of numbers, red or black which is regardless of number simply based on color. even or odd also non dependent on numbers. Dozen bets are for numbers by the dozen.

How to Play Roulette

Roulette is a very simple game, it takes literally no thinking to play Roulette & have fun. First you’ll pick your numbers, colors or betting strategy, you’ll place your chips & wager amount & sit back & watch the magic happen.
